Credit and renewal

Will this count toward my license renewal?

Only in a state that has approved the course, and we won't sell you a course where it isn't approved. Each course page shows its status for your state. Illinois courses are approved today, with more states in progress. If your state isn't open yet, use "Tell me when it opens" on the course page.

How many hours is each course?

Most courses run a little over an hour and earn 1 hour of training credit. The hours the state approved are printed on your certificate.

Do you send my hours to the state?

No. In Illinois you file your own renewal. Keep your certificates; Illinois requires operators to keep training records for 6 years. Our free renewal tracker keeps every hour in one place, including hours from other providers, and prints a summary laid out like Illinois EPA's Operator Training Submission Form.

Can I track hours I earned somewhere else?

Yes. The renewal tracker is free with an account. Add each course with its certificate and it shows how many hours you still need, technical and professional.

Taking a course

How do I finish a course?

Watch the video. You need to watch most of it (about 90% of the running time), and skipping ahead doesn't count. If your state requires a quiz, you take it at the end. Your certificate is ready to download as soon as you finish.

Can I stop and come back later?

Yes. Your place is saved, so you can watch in several sittings.

Can I take it on my phone?

Yes. Courses play on a phone, tablet or computer.

Are the videos captioned?

Yes. Every video has captions, and many courses have a written transcript too. See our accessibility statement for details.

Certificates

What's on my certificate?

Your name, the course, the completion date, the hours, and the state's course number. If you add your operator certificate number to your profile, it's printed too.

Can my employer or the state check it?

Yes. Every certificate has a verification code anyone can look up on this site.

Buying

How much does it cost?

$19 per course, or $99 a year for every course with the Annual Pass. See pricing.

Can I buy for my whole crew?

Yes. Team seats and passes are up to 25% off, applied automatically, and you can pay by card or against a purchase order. Each operator's certificate belongs to them, not to the employer.

Can I get a refund?

Within 7 days of purchase, as long as you haven't finished the course and no certificate has been issued. See the refund policy.

Quality

Who checks the courses?

Every course is built from state and federal sources, checked against them, and reviewed by an Illinois Class 1 wastewater operator before it goes on sale. More about how courses are made.

I found a mistake. What do I do?

Use "Something wrong? Tell us" at the bottom of any page. You don't need an account. We'll correct it, and the correction shows on the course straight away.
