About AquaCert
AquaCert makes online continuing education for wastewater operators: short, self-paced courses that count toward license renewal where a state has approved them, built around the decisions you make on the plant floor.
Why we exist
Renewal hours shouldn't mean a day off shift and a drive to a classroom. Every course is about an hour and works on a phone, so you can take it on a break or at home. We teach the work itself, like why a clarifier blanket rises or what your permit actually holds you to, rather than definitions to memorize.
How a course is made and checked
- Research first. Each subject starts from a library of primary sources: state and federal rules, EPA and state agency guidance, and operator training manuals. Every teaching point is tied to a source.
- The lesson is written from that research and, since October 2026, checked automatically against it before anyone reviews it.
- A licensed operator reviews it. Every course is reviewed by an Illinois Class 1 wastewater operator before it goes on sale, and again whenever the video changes.
- Mistakes get corrected. If you find one, use the "Something wrong? Tell us" link at the bottom of any page. A correction is shown on the course right away and fixed in the video after that.
Where courses count
A course is only sold in a state that has approved it for license renewal, and the course page shows its status for your state. Today that is Illinois, with more states in progress. Your certificate carries the state's course number, your name and the completion date, and anyone can check it online with its verification code.
